Продължаваща ескалация и големи епизоди на насилие и разрушения на протестите в Иран, които тръгнаха 4 дни преди настъпването на 2026 година. Снощи нещата стигнаха до нови висоти, макар че в сутрешната си новинарска емисия в 6:00 на 9 януари Българската национална телевизия да обяви, че през изминалата вечер протестите протекли мирно, имало обаче спиране на Интернет.
Добро обобщение на случващото се като визуален пример всъщност дава видеозапис на иранец, който разказва, че иранските сили за сигурност са му се обадили по телефона и са заплашили "да сварят жива" дъщеря му, ако той продължи да взема участие в протестите. Мъжът обаче е бесен, извън нормално проявявания страх - той е категоричен, че ще продължи да протестира, въпреки опасността за детето му:
